i love taking pictures. i really don’t care on how cool the camera looks. i just want really good picture quality. vivid and precice. almost to where i dont even need to photoshop the image to make it look how it was when i took it. :]

oh and i dont print the pictures either.

so yea which do you rather have sony or canon?

Definitely is needed to know about which camera brand is better “sony or canon”? that you’ll should try to clear up problems without any help. Thought to be able this will aid in several ways… and start making your life greater. They are both good BUT if I had to choose, I’d choose Canon

If its a compact your after then I would go with the lens manufacturer which is Canon.

I’m a Nikon person but between a Sony and a Canon, I’d go for a Canon.

Sony started making cameras less than 20 years ago. Cannon’s been making them since 1937. I don’t think I need to say any more.

IMO, though, if you want a low-end “consumer-grade” camera without a lot of professional features, Sony is a better value. However if you want interchangeable lenses, mountable flash, etc, then go with Cannon.

Wow Jonathan, do you have clue what you are babbling about? Sony has been making cameras that cost more than your HOUSE for much more than 20 years. They aren’t little point and shoot toys. On the SLR side, they took over the Konica/Minolta line, which has been around about 50 years LONGER than Canon.

As for the OP… the answer for you is not “they are both good”, it is “it doesn’t matter”. Either one will do what you want, if you take the time to learn HOW to do it properly. Neither one will automagically make you a pro photographer.
