honestly, that photo has been photoshopped to hell.

But keep in mind it is not the camera that takes good photos, it is the photographer. People are probably going to bombard you with “Get Nikon!” “Get Canon!” comments. Both Canon XT (XTi, XSi) and Nikon D-series are great for starters, but as mentioned before, it’s how well you use the camera when you get it. It won’t always be as simple as point and shoot, and BAM amazing photo. But a lot of times post-processing will be involved.

Try getting a entry level dSLR. Something like a Canon Xti, Xs, or Xsi… or Nikon d40, d40x, d60… What your main concern should be is getting a good lens with your camera.

However if all you will be shooting is myspace poses like the example you provided, don’t invest too much.
