hmmmm brainstorming always helped when i had to write speeches so….

okay first things that come to my mind…..

cadences – military type “songs” that they “sing/chant” while running, during PT…. keeps them in step with the other, teaches timing and “balance”, builds stamina/endurance….. singing while running is not easy, teaches them to listen (to follow the DI), teaches them to HEAR what the person is saying as well as the person next to them….

(this would be fun for demonstrative!!)

marches – sousa was popular for this…. they are encouraging and uplifting giving your mind the boost as often needed for “energy” to celebrate a victory or even continue forward in battle. listen to movies such as saving private ryan…. listen with and then without sound. then get to the part where they are in the “town” and he finds a record player….. music also “tames the savage beast”. older movie would be Yankee Doodle Dandy it’s all about how music can effect patriotism and how George M Cohan was awarded the congressional medal of honour…. for military music!! you can look at old fourth of july celebrations as well and see how the marches bring people together and to their feet Yankee Doodle Dandy WWI without William Tell TC subject speech PT NY music Military important help hear good fans DIY Canon camera Bugs Bunny better answer How good speech on the subject of music / Military? httpcameracanon professional blogspot com

bugler….. not THAT is a whoreveillery in and of itself…. from Taps to revily to the call to order and mess and all the others. there is a whole story behind the call of the bugle that would be a great tool. no matter what the language (especially in WWI) the guys knew what to do, where to go or how to act. there is also the piping of people on and off a ship, and other things like that with the “pipes”. you could do something on about the way music/tunes/melodies were used as a wordless communication. mbattalionther was in a charge of a calvary batallion of Polish immigrants in WWI – because he spoke the language and was pretty big & thus rather imposing Yankee Doodle Dandy WWI without William Tell TC subject speech PT NY music Military important help hear good fans DIY Canon camera Bugs Bunny better answer How good speech on the subject of music / Military? httpcameracanon professional blogspot com once they were taught the “melodies” you didn’t have to tell them, they heard and knew what to do. there were many men from other countries that had recently immigrated that signed up to fight for their new country. this type of “music” has been used for about ever…. “sound the charge” …. the horn was louder then any voice Yankee Doodle Dandy WWI without William Tell TC subject speech PT NY music Military important help hear good fans DIY Canon camera Bugs Bunny better answer How good speech on the subject of music / Military? httpcameracanon professional blogspot com

well…. i hope that gives you some ideas or at least a place to start.

There are numerous studies which suggest that listening to classical music will help you learn/improve your math skills. Perhaps you could read them and then try to convince your audience (I’m assuming they are fellow students) to try it (persuasive speech). You could add some humor to your speech (very important considering your audience) by playing two different kinds of music (say, classical and rap or heavy metal) while they try to solve a math problem you’ve wriiten on the board. It’s tough to concentrate on math when lyrics are involved. Suggestions for some good classical tunes and some (bad) puns to go with them:

the William Tell overture (no, it’s not a pass he made at a girl)

In the Hall of the Mountain King/ Peer Gynt (you might recognize this if you’ve ever watched Bugs Bunny)

, Pachelbel’s “Canon” (not a military weapon)

, Bach’s “Air in G string” (no, that’s not a bathing suit),

Flight of the Bumble Bee,

the Sabre Dance (Buffalo, NY hockey fans know this one)

Have fun!

“Canon 5D Mark II” setup shot

Reputation merely by “Canon 5D Mark II” setup shot

This is the setup I used for the "Canon 5D Mark II" shot. Check the notes for details.

Camera on tripod and triggered by TC-803N remote. Shot with a 17-40mm f/4L at 35mm, manual mode, ISO 200, 1/30 second at f/11.

Lit with two flashes, triggered remotely by Canon ST-E2. Front lighting by one Canon 580 EX II at camera right at 1/128 power and full zoom. At camera left I placed a Lastolite Triflip with silver covers to act as fill on the grip.

As top and rim light I used a handheld Canon 430 EX at 1/64 power and full zoom. This flash was snooted with a DIY snoot, in order to minimize light spill.

Background was pieces of black cardboard taped together. I removed the seams in Photoshop.
